Finca las Jacarandas

The coffee we produce comes from the Las Jacarandas farm, which is not only a coffee farm but also an ecological reserve. It is a flora and fauna conservation project where the established agroforestry system provides sufficient nutrients, shade, and humidity to the coffee. This project supports local work in the communities surrounding the farm, and being a 100% self-sustaining farm, it results in organically produced coffee. Here, nature and environmental balance play a fundamental role in coffee development. Only in this way can excellent coffee be achieved naturally while preserving the natural environment, with the coffee farm and the natural reserve coexisting simultaneously.

Within a nature reserve

Inside the Las Jacarandas farm, each coffee plant develops in an environment rich in biodiversity, interacting in balance with its surroundings, which consist of a subtropical forest. The great diversity of plants and trees of various species, as well as the presence of armadillos, various varieties of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and a wide variety of insects create an environment in perfect balance where the coffee plant is cultivated. This not only provides shade, but also prevents soil erosion, naturally regulates temperature creating an ideal microclimate for the coffee plant, and protects against potential pests.

The Plant: Only the best shoots

We only select the best coffee seeds for our nursery, thus achieving the highest quality coffee plants. Once germinated, only plants with the best roots are transferred to bags and allowed to grow until the best time to plant them in their final location, where they will produce coffee. In about three years, the new plant will become part of the production chain. Our coffee plantations are continuously
improved and renewed, introducing new plants and caring for existing coffee plants with special practices such as renewal pruning and fertilization with organic substrates produced on the farm using branches and leaves, in addition to regularly monitoring their health status.
